How can performing arts foster intercultural dialogue, strengthen community connections, and create new forms of collaboration? These questions are explored in the international project “OUR COMMON GARDEN”, in which the Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University participates as a project partner.

The management teams of all partners at the kick-off meeting in Bonn in March 2026.
Implemented between 2026 and 2028, the project brings together artists and cultural organisations from Germany, Latvia, and Italy, with Lithuania joining the initiative for the first time this year. The project involves creative workshops, explores new forms of artistic expression in the performing arts, and examines how art can encourage dialogue between different cultures and communities.
The Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University is represented in the project by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martynas Petrikas, who leads the project's activities at the University. The Faculty is responsible for developing and carrying out the process of evaluating the project's implementation and impact. This academic contribution will enable the analysis of the outcomes and impact of international artistic collaboration, while also providing an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the connections between performing arts, communication, and intercultural dialogue.
The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe programme.
Project implementation period: 1 March 2026 – 29 February 2028.
