On June 4, the Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University welcomed a delegation from the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania - Ambassador Constance H. Wang and Secretary Lanny Yeh. During the visit, the participants discussed aspects of possible cooperation in the academic field in order to strengthen ties between Lithuanian and Taiwanese higher education institutions.

The delegation met with Prof. Dr. Renata Matkevičienė, Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Arūnas Gudinavičius, Vice-Dean for Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mantas Martišius, researcher; and Raminta Labanauskienė, Head of Marketing and Communication at the Faculty.

During the meeting, the Dean Prof. Dr. Renata Matkevičienė presented the Faculty’s academic profile, study programmes, research areas, the Faculty's participation in national and international projects, emphasizing the importance of internationalization in today’s academic environment.

The visit covered a wide range of cooperation opportunities, including academic exchange programmes, internships, research, thematic lectures, and joint events. Among the ideas discussed were the organization of lectures on Taiwanese culture at the Faculty of Communication, as well as the development of scholarship programmes both for students and researchers. The delegation presented the initiatives implemented by the Taiwanese government to promote international academic cooperation.

Both the delegation of the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania and the administration of the Faculty of Communication expressed their expectation to specify the forms of cooperation and launch joint initiatives in the near future.
